Antoine Monin

 

Spotify - Head of Music France

After business and cultural studies near Paris (HEC) and Vancouver (UBC), Antoine Monin worked 10 years in the music industry at Virgin / EMI at various marketing and management positions. He then spent 12 years at Morgane Groupe (independent TV & Live production), working on many things, from business development (music shows for telco company SFR), producing TV shows (for Disney Channel, M6, Arte, France Televisions…) and live events (new festivals, award shows, opening ceremonies), until eventually serving as deputy general manager for the group. Antoine joined Spotify in June 2018, where he is now Head of Music for France and Benelux. 

He is addicted to music and sounds and his record collection / playlists range from A Tribe Called Quest to Frank Zappa, from Ethiopian jazz and Kenyan funk to Inuit throat singing, from Ministry to Claudine Longet.

It was about how do playlists work and how do I get playlisted? What do editors look for and how do I reach out to them? How do they curate music? How do I appear in algorithmic playlists? What datapoints should I be looking at?
